In recent years, whenever my birthday is approaching, I feel a sense of trepidation. I question myself a lot. One question that I never cease to ask myself regularly is, ‘Ryta, what exactly are you spending the currency of your life on?’
Accomplishment means different things at different phase of life, but we must always be honest with ourselves that we are making progress – looking back in retrospect at where we are coming from, looking forward at our visions and inward at God’s purpose for us.
I have learnt to thank God and count my blessings for prayers answered and continue to trust Him for the ones still in my prayer list.
As I celebrate another year of God’s faithfulness, the words of my dad, Rev. Olusola Areogun resonates in heart, ‘first, get it right and then get better at it.’
I know I am a project in God’s hand, and I am confident that He will perfect his work over me.
Happy birthday to me.
