My thanksgiving basket

My thanksgiving basket

When we walk in the steps of the wise, we attain wisdom. I received a divine counsel today from my mother, Rev. Oyenike Areogun, as she celebrated her birthday – four critical aspects of our lives that we should lavish thanksgiving to God for.

The salvation of our soul: Oh, how we take being born again for granted.

I have a fair idea of what I can do in the flesh if I don’t have Christ in me.

Knowing that you can’t willingly commit sin, not because the opportunities don’t come by, but because it is God who works in us both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

That ease with which you come back to the Father knowing that though He frowns at sin, His love is ever abiding when we repent and ask for forgiveness.

It’s priceless when we can be convicted of our sins. That is the joy of salvation!

The baptism in the Holy Ghost: Ah, this one, eh, chai! That strength that wells up in your inside when you spend time praying in the Holy Ghost, money can’t buy!

The accuracy that goes with your decision and people think you are very wise, it is just incredible. It makes you humble – I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.

That boldness in being able to stare at challenges in the eyes and tell the devil, oya, bring it on, I am not alone – I have got my CHASIS intact, for by Him, I can crush a troop, and by my God, I can leap over a wall.

That treasure of being baptized in the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues! Omo!

For the special plans He has for me: You know those seasons when you get to some detours in life and your brain can’t fathom how things will fall into shape – just knowing that the Father has plans to prosper me and not harm me, plans to give me hope and a future gives an assurance that the world’s premium insurance can’t offer. It makes you walk tall like, omo Baba l’emi se o!

I have breathe in my nostrils: After all the gra, gra, las, las, a living dog is better than a dead lion.

I have life; with God, tomorrow would be better than today!

These, among thousands of others, are my priceless thanksgiving basket!

How about yours?
