Yesterday morning, after preparing the children for school and checking off all necessary to-dos, as I was getting ready for work, I caught myself in the mirror, and an unexpected giggle escaped my lips, and I thought to myself, “Ryta, refill…”
Raising little children amidst building a career or business and tending to other worthy causes can be pretty daunting finding balance. Besides the 8 hours put into a typical workday by women, handling domestic life takes a sizable amount of the day – if not half the time you spent on paid jobs.
We tend to give a lot as women – we spend our time, our resources, skills, creativity, heart, and attention on filling the needs of the people we love and the tendency to neglect our own needs can be alluring. You can relate right?🤗
As an early bird, I cherish those hours of quietness at the start of the day. It helps me refill in God’s presence before jumping into the to-dos.
I found a new sport I love – cycling. When the coast is clear, I can go an hour or more just feeling my feet pedal away, taking in sights and sounds.
I revel in those moments of lights out, cuddled up on the couch, and wrapped up inside the strong arms of my dude, watching a good movie. It’s a peaceful refiller.
Prayer walks are another refiller – those brisk timed walks during lunch breaks can be great energizers.
As women, we must find time and space to refill, or we will empty out, get spent, and run dry!
Dear woman, fill up and refill!
How do you refill? Please, share.
