Times & Seasons

Like my father, Rev. Olusola Areogun will always say, ‘Our life is packed in capsule of time.’

Like a book, we flip open different pages and chapters of our lives.

Seasons come and go. We meet people, we forge new relationships. Some are for a time and some span well longer.

There was a time when primary school seemed like it all. I made really good friends in secondary school. My university years hold fond memories. NYSC will always be cherished because of that one special friend it availed me among great people I met.

Campus fellowships, rural rugged missions and church meetings at different stages of my life will always be dear to my heart.

Places I have worked, colleagues turned friends made those times remarkable.

We don’t remember everything – but those special conversations, life changing impartations, that one evangelism, those family dinners will always stand out.

Some people, we may never have the opportunity to meet again and even if we do, we won’t meet them at the same season.

Sometimes, we wish we did things differently and most of the time, we are happy that we were sensitive to take advantage of the time while it lasted.

Ultimately, all we have got is NOW – TODAY.

I always pray for sensitivity and the wisdom of the sons of Issachar – to have a deep understanding of the time and season that I find myself.

Because I am human, my senses will always want to get in the way. That is the time I pick counsel from Paul – to pray in the spirit always like he encouraged us to in order to enhance my sensitivity and gain on time understanding of my NOW.

Sometime I wish it were not so, but all we have got is NOW – TODAY to savour every mouthful and do what my maker has designed me to do – at this time and season!
