Dee: “Mum, being a parent must be a very difficult job.”
Me: Unexpecting such a question, I let out a loud, long laugh. “Why did you say that?”
Dee: You and dad are always working, looking after us, taking care of the house…”
Me: “You are right Dee, parenting is hard work, but not a difficult work.
Dee: “That’s why I don’t want to leave childhood,” Dee said as he crunched the remains of his chips.
Me: “Yeah, you should enjoy your childhood,” I said, still laughing.
Dee: “I am doing just that, Mum.”
As I turned off the light and closed the door, I could not help but smile at the pure innocence of a child.
This boy seems to be getting the memo too early😀
Parenting is such hard work – a unique job where you commit your spirit, soul, and body. A divine trust.
I pray for renewal of strength for every parent!
