Absolute Baseline

Absolute Baseline

Life operates by principles, and baselines are standing values that cut across every aspect of life. For example, the baseline for mastering any language is rooted in the alphabets, and the baseline for numeracy is in numbers.

The baseline always sets the foundation for any structure: physical, mental, spiritual and social.

As a trained teacher, I understand the importance of early education and the formative years of a child. The baseline education a child receives from kindergarten through primary school is the most important part of a child’s education. The base values a child receive from home and other influences live with the child through life, and as we move on, we only add bricks and fixtures to the already laid foundation.

As adults, it is very easy to take the subject of baseline trivial because, largely, we are no more under formal structures that set the modus operandi.

I recently reflected on the subject of baselines and how it, directly and indirectly, affects every aspect of our lives. I began to question myself on what the absolute baseline is and the answer came swift; “the absoluteness of the word of God”.

Life will always throw situations at us, some of which may be a mistake on our part or just a mess that we found ourselves in.

As we move through life, different realities hit us, some of which may make us stagger off balance and some gnaw deeply to our depth and move us to seek answers and solutions.

Science, technology and the inventions that make life beautiful may proffer solution but some situations are beyond the reach of science. When we hit that point, some get stopped and hover around throughout life stuck but some go over and beyond. What makes the difference between the two? It is the absolute baseline they live by.

Though you may not have received the victory you desire in a particular aspect of your life; like expecting a big break in business, career or health or looking forward to having your baby after years of waiting or just about anything that would make your joy full, the promises in God’s word will forever remain true.

And so, if we are not receiving manifestation yet, we are probably not applying the word as we should, or not enough. Maybe we need to gain more understanding or we just need to wait because His word is absolutely true.

It may tarry, but it will surely come true.

Without this baseline, we are bound to waver, tossed and drowned by situations of life.

The baseline of the absoluteness of the word of God keeps hope and faith alive and ultimately takes us beyond, when reason and science fails.
